Zhuhai's many islands. One of Zhuhai's nicknames is the city of a hundred islands (146 to be exact), and it has a number of islands that are accessible from ports by ferry boat (see the Districts Section for more information). You could go to Zhuhai for a trip when you come to Guangzhou for Canton Fair.

Known as “The Kingdom of Plants”, Dong’ao Island in Zhuhai is a historical naval fortress with a history of more than 270 years. It is home to Nansha Bay, Dazhu Bay and Xiaozhu Bay.
In addition, the island also has some historical spots, including a beacon tower which was built at the end of Ming Dynasty for military use. An old airport used by Japanese invaders also remains.
The island served as a frontier garrison beginning in 1729 and the remains are well preserved. Rusted cannons still sit at the top of the city wall, facing a rocky coast and the vast South China Sea. The coast was where the British unloaded smuggled opium in the 1800s. The island is also famous for its Guanyin (bodhisattva) sculpture reputed to bring fertility to those who pray there. Visitors to the beach can enjoy fishing, surfing, scuba diving, and sailing in the cool, blue water.

The Six Banyan Tree Temple is worth Temple of the Six Banyan Treesvisiting

While not the most inspiring temple you will see in China, or in Guangzhou, the Six Banyan Tree Temple is worth Temple of the Six Banyan Treesvisiting for its incredible 54 meter pagoda,which is more than 900 years old. This Buddhist temple was founded in 537 AD and rebuilt in the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279). The octagonal, 17-storey ‘Flowery Pagoda’, so named because someone seemed to think the structure was colorful, was built in 1098. Originally called the Baozhuangyan Temple, it went through several name changes. The current name was the work of famous poet Su Dongpo (1037-1101), who was so very impressed by the six, grand banyan trees growing in the grounds (now long gone), that he had to write down the words liu rong (six banyan trees). The name of the temple was changed to this a few centuries later and Su’s inscription (or a reproduction of it) remains at the temple．

The thousand-Buddha copper pillar cast in the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) is kept on the top story of the pagoda. The 184-foot pagoda appears to have nine stories; inside, however, there are 17 levels. Because of the colorful exterior carvings, it is popularly known as the Flower Pagoda.
In the temple, there is a lofty Buddha Pagoda (originally called Dagoba), and this is the famous ancient high-rise building in Guangzhou. To the west of the pagoda is the Mahavira Palace, in which three giant bronze Buddha statues are located.

Namjagbarwa Peak is reputed to be Paradise in the Clouds

Namjagbarwa Peak, located in Nyingchi Prefecture of Tibet Autonomous Region, is reputed to be Paradise in the Clouds. The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the Himalayas have been hailed as humankind's last land of mystery.

 
The word “Namjagbarwa” has several meanings in the Tibetan language, among which the most acknowledged is “the spear piercing into the sky”. Folklore suggests the mountaintop is where the gods get together, and the cloud around is smoke rising from the fragrant branches they burn. As a result, residents in the canyon deeply revere the lofty mountain.

It spans from the tropical zone to the frigid zone. The southern slope of Namjagbarwa Peak, with an elevation lower than 1100 meters, enjoys a warm and rainy climate. The evergreen rainforest composed of kapur, shorea assamica and some other plants is located at the lower slop with an elevation under 500 meters. Various typical tropical plants grow in the dark and humid tropical rainforest, such as the sugar palm and some other rattan plants.

The Xinghai Concert Hall is the best concert venue in Guangzhou

The Xinghai Concert Hall is the best concert venue in Guangzhou. It is named after Xian Xinghai, a renowned Chinese composer, who was just born in Guangzhou.  The Hall consists of three parts, a symphony performing Hall with 1500 seats, a Chamber Music Hall and a Music Material Room.

Named after Xian Xinghai, the Xinghai Concert Hall used to be Guangzhou’s main concert hall, comprising a symphony hall with 1,500 seats and a chamber music hall with 460 seats and located on Linjiang Arts Center Square on Ersha Island. The hyperbolic design covers the sound-optimized “mountain-valley terraced fields” of seat rows of the main hall. The Xinghai Concert Hall will be the place for the Gala concerts.

 
The symphony performing Hall was designed on the basis of natural sound, using reinforced concrete shell of hyperbolic paraboloids to cover the "Mountain valley-Terraced fields" seats so that the surfaces of these two parts directly form a "sound field". The architectural structural space is a acoustics one. The hard interior surface of the reinforced concrete shell and the sidewall of the parquet seat areas serve as the interface of the reflection and diffusion of the music sound. In addition, a spheric diffuser hung above the performing stage improves the mutually heard condition on the performing stage and reinforces the early reflected sound for the front seat areas.

Zhujiang New Town includes business landmark buildings

Zhujiang New Town includes business landmark buildings, namely Guangzhou Opera House, Guangzhou New Library, the new Guangdong Museum, the second Children's Palace, the Twin Towers and the new Canton Tower. Since new restaurants and cute shops are popping up as fast as shopping malls are planned in the rest of the city, here are a few things to do and places to look for in Zhujiang New Town.
1) International restaurants - Xing Sheng street
A cluster of new restaurants, cafes and bars have opened on the south side of Xingsheng Street, just northwest of the Liede Metro Station.
Here, hungry (or perhaps thirsty) diners can find the new location of Hooley's Irish Pub.  Other nearby restaurants include Soon Deli, a branch of the People's Cafe, which offers organic fare, Vanda Thai and Vietnamese restaurant and Chinese restaurant Mr. Law.
2) Imported food - Sharefoods and SafeMax
While you're in the area enjoying the cultural sites or having a nice meal, why not check grocery shopping off your to-do list? Boutique imported food store Sharefoods has a selection of deli meats and cheeses and a wide array of European and North American packaged goods.
On the third floor of the same block, on the corner with Xingsheng Street, is SafeMax, open 24 hours. Supermarket with a warehouse feel, they have all the things you usually find in a supermarket, plus imported goodies from the U.S.A.

4) Happy hours – Huajiu street
The Baolin Garden complex boasts a strip of bars and eateries along Huajiu Street and around the corner. Two of Guangzhou's favourite expat bars have branches – The Tavern and The Brew – but just because they're lesser known doesn't mean the other venues along this street won't make your night a special one. Sandwiched between the merriment are two practical stops on this block—a pet groomer's and the tiny Kitchen Carnival import food store.

Northern Pattaya is quite peaceful

Northern Pattaya is quite peaceful, whereas the central and southern parts are livelier, always buzzing with tourists in search for fun. The whole beach is flanked by a tree-lined esplanade dotted with restaurants, noodle bars, souvenir shops, clothing shops, food stalls etc. Unfortunately, the beach is usually overcrowded since it is only 30 metres wide and still densely packed with umbrellas and deck chairs for hire. Furthermore, the water quality is rather poor and not very suitable for bathing. There are no showers available on the beach either. However, Pattaya Beach boasts an excellent selection of watersports, including banana boats, rubber rings, jet skis, pedaloes etc. Note that you should beware of the notorious Jet Ski Scam if you don’t want to be ripped off. Pattaya Beach is an excellent place to lounge in your deckchair, have a coconut or a cold beer. You can also take an ultimately satisfying Thai massage while on the beach.

Must-see tourist spot during our stay in the city of Hanoi, I guess because of its proximity to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum or by the curious thing about its structure, which resembles a Lotus Flower, since throughout the territory of Vietnam there are others pagodas the same characteristic
The version that’s there now sits above a large lily pond (or small lake, depending on which way you look at it), tucked just behind the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in the Ba Dinh district of Hanoi.
